We recently had a worry from a customer, that after being down for a couple of years, their Avenue floor had begun to deteriorate in one particular spot, even though they had been cleaning it regularly. Of course, we always listen to our customers and want to know everything we can, so that we can help get to the bottom of their worry.

We recently had a worry from a customer, that after being down for a couple of years, their Avenue floor had begun to deteriorate in one particular spot, even though they had been cleaning it regularly. Of course, we always listen to our customers and want to know everything we can, so that we can help get to the bottom of their worry.

In this instance, after some investigation it turned out that the customer recently bought a steam mop to up their maintenance game and keep their floor looking great, but this is bad news for any cushion vinyl floor. Whether you have cushion vinyl, wood or laminate flooring; the fine-mist of water and heat can cause lasting damage, so is best avoided.

In fact, Avenue cushion vinyl floors feature a permanent SUPERGUARD surface layer that means steam mopping is completely overkill. Most stains and marks are removable with water, or a mild detergent solution. As one continuous, sealed surface without grooves, cracks or joins; there’s nowhere for dirt and bugs to hide, so Avenue floors are easy to keep spiffingly clean too. Wiping up spills straightaway, simple mopping and the occasional vacuum to get rid of dirt is all that’s required to keep your Avenue floor looking tip top.
